Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a full-time float position in the Mason Access Services department. The role spans locations including Mason, Kenwood, Winslow, and Norwood with a 40-hour workweek and daytime shifts.

Responsibilities include patient safety, registration, scheduling, and ensuring HIPAA compliance while supporting Revenue Cycle and Health Information Management processes. The position requires a high school diploma and the ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Safety - Ensures patient safety by identifying the correct patient and preparing isolation precautions when needed.
  • Customer Service - Assists and services patients, families, staff, and external agencies with registration, admission, and scheduling per Cincinnati Children’s policies.
  • HIPAA/Confidentiality - Maintains confidentiality of patient and family information; accesses only necessary data.
  • Compliance - Completes documents and questionnaires to ensure regulatory compliance (JCAHO, CMS, ODH).
  • Revenue Cycle Support - Supports Revenue Cycle, Health Information Management, and Regulatory by entering data accurately and communicating system issues to management.

Hours

This is a float position with hours ranging M-F from 7:30am-7:30pm and every other Saturday between the hours of 7:30am-12pm.

Job Responsibilities
  • Safety - Ensures patient safety by identifying the correct patient. identifying special needs and preparing isolation precautions for patients who have Infectious Disease indicators.
  • Customer Service - Provides assistance and services to patients, families, staff and external agencies in the accurate completion of patient registration, admission and scheduling. Investigates and resolves customer requests, questions or problems according to CCHMC policies and procedures. Contacts outside representatives to request information or assistance in resolving problems.
  • HIPAA/Confidentiality - Maintains confidentiality, protects and safeguards patient/family personal medical and financial information at all times during collection, use and storage. Access only information and records necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Compliance - Completes and authenticates all documents and questionnaires that ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (JCAHO, CMS, ODH)
  • Revenue Cycle Support - Supports the Revenue Cycle, Health Information Management, and Regulatory by ensuring that the necessary data, information and forms are obtained and accurately entered into the appropriate system. Talks to management to explain system errors or to recommend changes to the system.
