Job summary

JAG Physical Therapy is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet patients, schedule appointments and manage registrations. You will verify authorizations, assist with insurance processes, and maintain accurate records while delivering friendly, service-oriented support across multiple locations in the NY area.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, 1+ year of medical office experience, strong organization and communication skills, and the ability to travel as needed among JAG

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a medical assistant certificate is preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in a medical receptionist/administrative role.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in the medical office.
• Answer questions and provide directions when needed.
• Field calls using the general office line.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments in the software.
• Register new patients and update records as required.
• Distribute forms and collect required information.
• Collect patient financial responsibility daily.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
• Complete insurance verifications, authorizations, and referrals.
• Handle Workers’ Compensation and Auto claim submissions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a medical assistant certificate program preferred.
• 1+ years of experience working as a medical receptionist/administrative assistant in the health care field.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Availability to travel throughout JAG locations for coverage. Following the JAG Travel policy.

What You’ll Do

• Greeting patients and other visitors in the medical office.
• Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary.
• Field all phone calls that arrive using our general office number.
• Utilize medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for patients.
• Register new patients and update necessary records.
• Distribute forms and paperwork to patients to ensure that required fields are completed appropriately.
• Daily collection of patient financial responsibility
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient records.
• Completing and tracking insurance verifications, authorizations, and referrals.
• Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation and Auto claim submissions.
• Perform other diverse duties as requested or required.
