Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Access Representative
• Location: Lombard
• Part Time
• Hours: Availability from 1:30p to 8p M-F
• Rotating Weekends and Holiday Schedule: 6:30a to 4p Sat & Sun

What you will need:

• Education:
• High School diploma or GED
• Associate degree in business or healthcare (Preferred)

• License:
• A valid driver's license is required if performing duties at an off-site location. Use of personal vehicle requires maintaining automobile liability coverage.

• Experience & Skills (Preferred):
• Manual dexterity for office machines
• 1-2 years of registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections, or customer service in healthcare
• Knowledge of health insurances, medical terminology, and anatomy
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Bilingual skills

What you will do:

Provide timely and accurate pre-registrations, registrations, order management, charge capture, cash collection, and medical information systems support for various patient settings. Collect and analyze demographic, insurance, financial, and clinical data, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Screen for third-party eligibility and enter medical necessity coding to secure proper payment. Interact with patients and families to meet their needs and explain hospital revenue cycle processes, including payment options.
