An employer is seeking a Patient Access Representative for the Emergency Room setting. This role involves cross-training on Patient Access activities across various areas of the Medical Center's Emergency Services. Responsibilities include managing insurance verification, benefits determination, financial clearance, and supporting tasks in Patient Access, Scheduling, Pre-Registration, and Financial Counseling, all while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with patients and staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The position is onsite, requiring work every other weekend, with shifts including two evenings (3-11:30 pm), one night (11 pm-7:30 am), and one morning (7 am-3:30 pm).

Minimum qualifications include:
- 1+ years of experience in registration/patient access
- Proficiency with EMR software
- Experience with insurance verifications/eligibility (IPAs, PPOs, HMOs, Medicare, etc.)
- HS Diploma or GED
Preferred skills include experience in the Emergency Department or Urgent Care and proficiency with Epic Software.
