Job summary

Denver Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist - Westside Adult to be the first point of contact for patients across outpatient clinics. You will register, verify insurance, explain financial responsibilities, collect payments, and maintain accurate patient data to support timely access to care.

You will collaborate with clinic teams to promote smooth workflow and provide flexible coverage across clinics as needed, while ensuring HIPAA and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High attention to detail and accuracy in patient data and scheduling.
• Ability to explain financial responsibilities to patients clearly.
• Capacity to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Responsibilities

• Register and check in patients for outpatient services and maintain encounters in EHR.
• Explain financial responsibilities and collect relevant payments; connect to financial counseling as needed.
• Collaborate with clinic teams to maintain efficient flow and timely access to care.
• Check insurance eligibility and benefits; resolve coverage issues with other teams.
• Meet productivity and quality standards and participate in audits and process improvements.
• Provide coverage across departments as needed; adhere to HIPAA and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist in training new hires and answer questions.
