Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region is seeking a Patient Access Center Clinical Medical Assistant to support medication refill requests and patient inquiries in Rutland, Vermont. This 24‑hour‑per‑week role focuses on timely communication, continuity of care, and exceptional customer service within a network of primary care clinics.

You will review refill requests, coordinate with providers and pharmacies, document in the EHR, and escalate when clinical review is needed, all while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year of healthcare, medical office, or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and prescription refill workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for refill requests and inquiries.
• Review refill requests for completeness and accuracy.
• Process refills per protocols and provider instructions.
• Maintain documentation in the EHR.
