Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of Patient Access department experience.
• Excellent understanding of insurance concepts and health plan policies. Knowledge in hospital registration and authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Comprehends registration requirements and applies it during chart reviews.
• Audits registrations for accurate demographic, diagnosis, and insurance information.
• Provides staff coverage and helps develop improved processes.
• Verifies insurance benefits and coordinates authorizations and referrals.
• Communicates with patients and staff to obtain needed information.
