Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking a motivated leader for the Patient Access Services PAS team. The position manages patient registrations, insurance verification, pre-certification, and scheduling across multiple SGMC Health locations.

You will help develop policies and train staff to meet department goals while ensuring compliance with applicable laws. Based in Valdosta, GA, the role is full-time with an 8-hour day shift and occasional weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience in Business Management, Finance or Nursing is required.
• Must have at least four years of progressive related experience in Patient Access Management.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance eligibility and pre-certification.
• Schedule patients and coordinate centralised scheduling and data entry.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for Patient Access Services.
• Assist in training personnel and improving department performance.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the management of Patient Access Services at SGMC Health, SGMC Health Berrien, SGMC Health Lanier and SGMC Health Outpatient Plaza for the following business units: Emergency Care, Outpatient Services, Admissions, Youth Care, Pre-Admissions and Centralized Scheduling. Responsibilities include patient registrations, insurance verification, pre-certification, point of service coding, patient scheduling, and data entry. These responsibilities include the monitoring and development of policy and procedures, information systems, personnel training (enterprise wide), and the attainment of departmental goals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Experience in Business Management, Finance or Nursing is required.
• Must have at least four years of progressive related experience in Patient Access Management to include a working knowledge of pertinent laws and regulatory requirements.
• Individual will possess an extensive background in personal computer applications.
