Schedule:

  • WK1 – Sun, Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri
  • WK2 – Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sat

Start time: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Responsibilities
  • Provide a positive patient experience, demonstrating strong communication and customer service skills during registration.
  • Accurately search and select the correct patient, gather complete demographic and insurance information, and identify uninsured patients for referral.
  • Retrieve orders, confirm medical necessity, and answer phones for outpatient visits.
  • Gather worker’s compensation or auto insurance details, collect patient liabilities, verify insurance, and confirm referrals and authorizations.
  • Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff in accordance with Jefferson's values.
  • Request and scan photo ID and insurance cards, record accurate information, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Use RTE, Phreesia, or payer websites to verify insurance coverage and benefits, ensuring proper referrals and authorizations.
  • Adhere to departmental and institutional protocols, meet regulatory and compliance requirements, and achieve performance metrics.
  • Communicate and collect out-of-pocket payments at the time of service.
  • Rotate assignments across all points of service within Patient Access, including Outpatient Registration and Emergency Department.

Qualifications include proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office, familiarity with healthcare EHR systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner), knowledge of medical terminology and insurance coverage, strong communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate's degree in healthcare or business preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a healthcare environment, with prior ED registration experience preferred. Current Jefferson Seamless Access Representatives with at least 1 year of experience are also eligible.

Work Shift: Day shift (United States)

Location: 1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA
