Job summary

baptisthlth is seeking a Patient Access professional to support registration in a high-volume healthcare setting. The role covers internal staff duties and external patient check-ins, with emphasis on accuracy and customer service.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of patient access experience, is self-motivated, and possesses strong communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish or Creole is a plus; completion of Patient Access training is required.

Additional Qualifications:

• For internal staff: A min of 1 year Patient Access experience and has demonstrated the ability to independently perform all functions within the Level 1 job description.
• Meets/exceeds BHSF registration accuracy and productivity standards for at least the most recent 6 months.
• Exceeds departmental KPIs.
• Maintains a positive attitude, is self motivated, and encourages others.
• Identified as a team player and cross trained in multiple areas/product lines/practices to substitute all staff positions as needed.
• For external staff:Associates Degree preferred with 1 year Patient Access experience, or 2 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced work environment, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Desired: Healthcare regulatory guidelines knowledge (HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure including medical necessity compliance guidelines, etc.
• ).
• Understanding of insurance contracts and scheduling guidelines/protocols, Microsoft Office products and knowledge of EMR applications, etc.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.

Minimum Required Experience: 1 Year patient access experience strongly preferred.
