PATIENT ACCESS CLERK - FT
Summary: The Patient Access/Greeter performs as the "face" of MASSAC Memorial Hospital by greeting patients in outpatient registration and assisting them with registration. They provide directions and/or accompany patients to various departments as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Greet patients and their families in person and via telephone answering questions and providing assistance during registration and admissions. Review admission packet with patients and collect consent for treatment.
2. Register and direct patients to appropriate departments. Accurately create patient medical and financial records and obtain relevant insurance information and signatures.
3. Attend all required Safety training programs.
4. Manages difficult or emotional customer situations.
5. Performs other duties as assigned
Shift: Varies
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in customer service; medical office setting preferred.
