Qualifications

• Six months of office and/or call center, customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of computers and other standard office equipment required. Proficiency in data entry preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited medical receptionist or similar program, or two years in a health care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming and efficient environment for patients, addressing their needs and providing support.
• Collect demographic information and enter it into the system.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary pre-authorizations or referrals.
• Explain insurance benefits and financial responsibilities to patients.
• Provide exceptional customer service by answering phones promptly and professionally.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and balances in accordance with hospital policy.
• Assist patients with navigating the online patient portal.
