Job summary

MedMark Treatment Center is seeking a diligent Patient Access Representative / Patient Account Representative to join our team in Milford, Ohio. This full-time role focuses on patient billing, insurance verification, and revenue-cycle support in a outpatient setting.

You will verify insurance, process invoices, coordinate with payers, and maintain accurate patient accounts while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years’ experience in a medical office.
• 2-4 years’ Medicaid, PAC and commercial insurance experience.
• Excellent customer service and professional public presentation skills, including telephone etiquette.
• Knowledge of medical insurance claims procedures and documentation.
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures and data reporting.
• Proficient in basic PC skills; Word and Excel preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
• Self-directed with ability to work with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review and process patient accounts and transactions.
• Verify insurance benefits and billing information.
• Contact third party payers for payment post billing.
• Resolve payment and billing issues.
• Reconcile daily money collected.
• Forward information to expedite payment.
• Maintain accurate accounts and demographics.
• Ensure completion of pre-authorization processes.
• Monitor authorizations and claim rejections.
• Maintain fiscal records for accounts.
• Contact patients for payment or arrangements.
• Manage revenue cycle, production logs, balances, and self-pay collections.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
• Assist with archiving discharged files.
• Respond to requests for information from payers and others.
• Backup receptionist duties as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
