Job description

Description:

The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating patient flow, ensuring timely processing, and maintaining knowledge of practices used within the department, physician practice, or hospital to address patient questions or concerns. The role requires knowledge of insurance requirements, Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) pricing, financial assistance options, and overall BHSF Revenue Cycle operations. The employee will practice the BHSF philosophy of service excellence by providing professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED, certification, training, or relevant experience.
  • Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, a team player, compassionate, with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Desired: Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
  • Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, EMR applications) and accurate typing skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage, including medical necessity and compliance guidelines.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole.
