Job Description:

The incumbent will coordinate patient flow, ensure timely processing, and maintain knowledge of department/physician practice/hospital practices to address patient questions or concerns. Responsibilities include understanding insurance requirements, Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) pricing, financial assistance options, and overall revenue cycle operations. The role emphasizes practicing BHSF’s philosophy of service excellence by providing professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, their families, employees, physicians, and community members.

Qualifications:

Degrees:

  • High School diploma, GED, certification, training, or experience

Additional Qualifications:

  • Complete and pass the Patient Access training course
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Detail-oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Desired: Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
  • Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office, EMR systems, and accurate typing skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage, including medical necessity and compliance guidelines
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole preferred
