Job summary

West Texas A&M University is seeking a RootEd Pathways Advisor to coordinate program planning, development, and implementation. The role supports embedded transition, pathway, and career advising to strengthen postsecondary access and workforce alignment across rural communities.

The Advisor will work with students, families, school personnel, and community partners to support postsecondary planning, educational transitions, and navigation of resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four (4) years of related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group advising related to postsecondary planning, educational transitions, workforce pathways, career readiness, financial aid awareness, and navigation of educational and workforce opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community stakeholders to support participant recruitment and engagement.
  • Evaluate and track participant engagement, progress, and outcomes; provide referrals and navigation of resources.
  • Visit partner schools and community organizations to develop collaborative relationships and support pathway advising and workforce development.
