Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Gross Room support role within its pathology team. The candidate will assist pathologists and residents in processing and analyzing surgical specimens, following established procedures and safety guidelines.

The position involves accessioning specimens, assisting in autopsies, maintaining equipment and records, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality pathology services.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in clinical labs preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Accessions patient specimens following standard procedures.
• Performs biopsies and other procedures as assigned by PAs following standard approved procedures.
• Maintains specimens, equipment and records.
• Assists residents and pathologists in performing autopsies, maintains autopsy suites by routine cleaning and safety procedures.
