Job summary

Novant Health in Hardeeville, SC is seeking a laboratory specimen processor for the Anatomic Pathology department. You will handle specimen processing, data entry, and ensure quality and compliance while working with pathologists and healthcare professionals.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree is preferred and one year of pathology/cytology processing experience is favored. This is a full-time on-site position with on-call responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 2 Year/Associate Degree preferred; Chemical, Physical or Biological Science.
  • One year of relevant pathology and/or cytology specimen processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Specimen Processing: Receive, verify, accession, and process patient specimens accurately.
  • Documentation & Data Entry: Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and QC records.
  • Customer Service & Communication: Communicate effectively with physicians, pathologists, and lab staff.
  • Laboratory Operations: Maintain inventory and restock supplies; organize work areas.
  • Quality & Compliance: Follow safety standards and regulatory guidelines; participate in QA initiatives.
  • Training & Professional Development: Engage in ongoing education and competency training.
