Job summary

Duke Health's Clinical Laboratories seeks a Clinical Technician II in Pathology Record Control at Duke University Hospital, PRN, as needed. This role focuses on pathology record control and liaises with outside clients, not phlebotomy or processing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Structured phlebotomy training course recommended.
• At least 2 years as Clinical Tech I or Phlebotomy certification with competency.
• Phlebotomy certification may be required for Phlebotomy assignment.
• Basic Life Support certification preferred.
• Pediatric Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized procedures.
• Handle tests and procedures including cytogenetics and POCT.
• Manage specimens and labeling; ensure correct volume and aliquoting.
• Communicate professionally with patients and staff.
• Maintain hospital information systems and records.
• Assist with maintenance of specimens, slides, and office tasks.
