Pathology Physician Locum Tenens Job in Texas

Jackson and Coker is seeking a Pathology physician for a locum tenens position in Texas. To qualify, candidates must have a Texas state medical license at the time of presentation. Must also be board certified or eligible as a Pathologist.

Dates of Coverage:
June 9-13
August 18-22
August 25-29
Typically 1-2 weeks per month ongoing

Job Requirements for Assignment
Texas state medical license
Board Certified/Eligible Pathologist
Temporary privileges available
Typically 20-30 cases per day depending on the complexities
Two other permanent pathologists available to assist with reads
Lab responsibilities: gross and cover frozens first day, then read slides next day, etc.
General Pathologist who can perform their own grossing/frozens
Case mix is biopsies (GI, cervix, embs, some skins from plastic surgeon)
IR biopsies with adequacy assessments
Some big cases, malignant and benign colons, breast, thyroids
There are bone marrows, but other Pathologists are willing to take those of locums isn't comfortable
Helpful and kind support staff
Must have case logs from the past year to qualify for hospital privileges
