Job summary

Responsibilities include specimen handling, preparing cassettes, assisting a pathologist team, maintaining safety and quality records, and ensuring proper disposal of hazardous materials. Location-dependent duties may include freezing sections and imaging, with logs and QC reporting.”

Qualifications

• Experience handling tissue specimens and preparing cassettes.
• Familiarity with lab safety procedures and hazardous waste handling.
• Ability to assist in cutting room and grossing tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Accession all tissue specimens and make cassettes.
• Assist pathologist and assistants in cutting room.
• Perform frozen sections where location allows.
• Hang tissue on processors and determine specimens for grossing.
• Photograph specimens and prepare tissue for testing.
• Operate equipment and maintain logs and QC charts.
