Job summary

PathGroup in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Laboratory Processor to support tissue pathology procedures, including accessioning tissue specimens and preparing cassettes for processing.

You will assist the pathologist and cutting room staff, perform frozen sections as required, operate the cryostat, manage specimen photography, and maintain logs and safety records to ensure compliance with quality control and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Accession all tissue specimens and prepare cassettes.
• Assist pathologist and assistants in cutting room activities.
• Perform frozen sections when location allows.
• Operate cryostat equipment for tissue preparation and imaging.
• Maintain logs of cases and quality control charts.
• Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste and safe handling of specimens.
