Job summary

IU Health in Indianapolis is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine pathology tests, maintain accurate records, and support diagnostic workflows within the Pathology Lab. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and certification eligibility within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory safety regulations and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests on patient specimens and provides information for diagnosis, treatment or prevention of diseases.
• Maintains records of performance and quality control.
• May participate in research and development activities.
• May act as a key resource for staff inside and outside the department.
• Instructs students, laboratory and non-laboratory staff on laboratory procedures and techniques.
• Follows standard operating procedures and may contribute to procedure development/modification.
