Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Pathologists’ Assistant for a full-time day shift in the pathology department. You will perform macroscopic examination, dissect specimens, orient tissues, and assist in frozen section preparation under a Pathologist's supervision.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in health science, NYS licensure as a Pathologist’s Assistant (or eligibility) and ASCP certification. Pay ranges from $47.50 to $65.00 per hour, depending on experience; exempt status under FLSA

Qualifications

• Master's degree in health science, Pathologists’ Assistant.
• New York State license as a Pathologist’s Assistant or eligible to obtain.
• ASCP certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive macroscopic examination for pathology specimens.
• Dissects and orients specimens and assists in frozen section preparation.
• Supports Pathologist during supervision and grossing procedures.
• Assists with postmortem examinations (neonatal autopsies under supervision).
• Maintains pathology and hospital information systems familiarity.
• Participates in QA, documentation, and efficiency initiatives.
