Schedule Details: Monday through Friday, Weekends (Saturday and Sunday)

Scheduled Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Shift: 4 - Mixed Shift, 8 Hours (United States of America)

Cost Center: 10010 - 3150 ANPA Path Assistants

Responsibilities:

1. Perform gross surgical pathology functions including dissection, examination, and gross dictation of surgical specimens, frozen sections, photomicrography, and gross photography.
2. Select and submit tissue sections for microscopic examination, including frozen and pertinent sections for various microscopy techniques, tumor bank, and special studies.
3. Maintain tumor bank specimens.
4. Assist in training and teaching residents and fellows in surgical and decedent pathology functions, including dictation, frozen sections, and photography.
5. Perform human post-mortem examinations, review patient charts, conduct external examinations, dissection, and demonstrate findings to supervising pathologists.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of study

Preferred:

• Master's degree as a Pathologist Assistant
• Certification as a Pathologist Assistant from an American Association of Pathologists' Assistants approved program
• Graduation from NAACLS-approved Master's level Pathologists' Assistant Program and ASCP certification (preferred)

Schedule varies depending on campus coverage, including mixed day shifts or early evenings.
