Atrius Health in Needham Heights, MA is seeking a Pathologist's Assistant to support the laboratory team under a pathologist's supervision. You will perform gross examination and accessioning of surgical specimens, select sections for histology, and prepare tissue for processing in collaboration with the pathologist.

This per-diem role requires a NAACLS‑accredited training or a biology-related bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience as a Pathologist's Assistant.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from a NAACLS‑approved educational training program or hold a biology‑related bachelor’s degree.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Pathologist's Assistant under direct supervision of a pathologist.

Responsibilities

• Conduct gross examination of tissue specimens and describe gross features.
• Assist in selecting diagnostic sections for histologic processing in collaboration with the pathologist.
• Review cases with a pathologist at sign‑out and support histology staff as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to lab process improvement.
• Maintain detailed records of dissections and dictations and assist in report compilation.
