Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Pathologist's Assistant to assist in anatomic pathology. You will prepare surgical specimens, participate in gross description and tissue processing, and support autopsy procedures under supervision of a pathologist.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field, and the Pathologist's Assistant Certificate within 6 months of hire. ASCP certification and supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytic and diagnostic reasoning capabilities.
• Proficiency with standard PC applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist pathologist by preparing and grossly describing surgical specimens.
• Perform and coordinate tissue sampling and processing for histology.
• Assist in autopsy procedures and postmortem examinations as directed.
• Help maintain surgical pathology equipment and supplies.
