Job summary

Indiana University Health Pathology Laboratory in downtown Indianapolis seeks a Pathologists' Assistant for outpatient laboratory work in a large health system. The team currently includes 60 pathologists and 9 pathologists’ assistants, with over 100,000 cases processed annually.

The PRN role emphasizes surgical pathology grossing, resident interaction, and frozen sections for adults. A structured orientation ensures familiarity with our protocols and the technical expectations of staff

Qualifications

• Must have NAACLS-accredited pathologists’ assistant program and ASCP certification.
• Open to new graduates.
• 1 year experience preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with staff physicians and coworkers in a dynamic practice.

Responsibilities

• Gross surgical pathology specimens.
• Interact with pathology residents.
• Perform frozen sections for adult patients.
• Support system-wide pathology procedures as assigned.
