Job summary

Qualifications

• MD degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in Pathology by the ABP or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in anatomic and/or clinical pathology.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Proficiency in LIS and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Analyze tissue specimens (biopsies and surgical resections) using microscopy and advanced laboratory techniques.
• Perform autopsies to determine the cause of death.
• Conduct a comprehensive range of tests on blood, body fluids, and other specimens to identify abnormalities.
• Collaborate with physicians in various specialties to ensure accurate diagnosis and develop effective treatment plans for patients.
• Communicate pathology findings clearly and concisely in written reports.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in diagnostic techniques and pathology research.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the pathology department.
• May participate in teaching and mentoring residents and medical students (depending on the role).
