Job summary

LanceSoft, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant / Pathologists’ Assistant in the Los Angeles area for a 1-year contract. The day shift may run from 9am to 8:30pm with flexibility.

Pay is $80–$85 per hour on W-2, with opportunities to contribute to grossing and description of specimens under supervision. Responsibilities include performing grossing and documentation, assisting with frozen sections, and supporting administrative duties within the Anatomic Pathology Department.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as Pathologists’ Assistant is required.
• PA(ASCP) certification or eligibility to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Support the Anatomic Pathology Department under supervision and direction.
• Describe, photograph, and gross specimens and assist with frozen sections.
• Assist with administrative tasks including protocols, reports, data, and instrument maintenance.

Description

The Clinical Specialist (Pathologists’ Assistant) provides support to the Anatomic Pathology Department under the supervision and direction of the Chief of Anatomic Pathology, and/or Director of Operations, Anatomic Pathology, and/or the Clinical Specialist – Supervisor. Responsibilities include description, photographing, and grossing of specimens and assistance with frozen sections. The Pathologists’ Assistant may assist with administrative functions including preparation and administrative maintenance of protocols, procedures, reports, data, and instruments and may perform administrative, budgetary, teaching, and other duties.

Requirements

• 1+ year experience as Pathologists’ Assistant
• PA(ASCP) certified or eligible for and pass PA (ASCP) within 12 months after hire

Qualifications to be PA(ASCP)

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
2. Completion of a NAACLS – Accredited PA Program: Pathologists’ Assistant program accredited by the NAACLS (National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences). The list of colleges is at the bottom
