Overview




The Pathologist Assistant is a trained allied health professional who provides anatomic pathology services under the direction and supervision of the Director of Surgical Pathology. The Pathologist Assistant provides assistance in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine undertaking an advanced role in the performance of autopsies, surgical specimen processing, photography, and instructional teaching of all rotating students, residents, and fellows.

Responsibilities




    Surgical Pathology Assist in the preparation and performance of surgical specimen dissection as well as maintenance of the gross room.
  • Autopsy Pathology Assist in the performance of postmortem examination and maintenance of the autopsy suite
  • Assume duties as assigned relative to teaching, gross room supervision and maintenance of general operations within anatomic pathology.





Qualifications




  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years experience experience must be under the supervision of a pathologist (certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology).
  • Other Completion of an accredited Pathologistsa Assistant program or
  • PA (ASCP) Preferred

Starting Pay




Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $41.37/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.






Remote Work/Work from Home




This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
