Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking a Pathologist for full-time day shifts. The position provides Anatomic & Clinical pathology services on-site at Highland General Hospital and other Alameda Health System facilities in Oakland, CA. The candidate will supervise laboratory operations and support rapid diagnostic reporting.

The role requires MD or DO, Board Eligible or Board Certified in AP/CP, and CA medical licensure; a DEA license is optional. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Education: MD or DO is required.
• Board eligible or board certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology or both.
• Valid California medical license to practice medicine.
• Valid DEA license (not required for Pathologists).

Responsibilities

• Perform gross and microscopic examinations with final diag report.
• Perform fine-needle aspiration biopsies and provide rapid cytopathology reports.
• Assist in intraoperative consultations when clinically needed.
• Coordinate post-mortem examinations and timely autopsy reporting.
• Attend tumor boards and multidisciplinary meetings to present findings.
• Provide leadership to the Clinical Laboratory and guidance on test selection.
