Job description

Pathologist

Mary Lanning Healthcare is seeking a pathologist to join one other full-time pathologist, creating a two-pathologist team providing laboratory leadership and general pathology coverage for two hospitals in central Nebraska (Hastings and Grand Island).

Responsibilities
  • Provide surgical pathology, cytopathology, and clinical pathology services.
  • Collaborate with laboratory leadership and clinicians on both hospital campuses.
  • Maintain close working relationships with the pathology faculty and departmental administrative leadership.
  • Provide Clinical and Anatomical Pathology coverage as needed and diagnostics such as the presence and stage of diseases using laboratory techniques and patient specimens.
  • Meet the obligations and responsibilities set forth in the Medical Staff bylaws of the healthcare facilities where membership is required.
  • Report any damage to or insufficiency of furnishings, medical appliances, equipment, facilities and fixtures, including scientific equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain medical and other records as described in the Policies with respect to the Professional Services rendered to patients.
  • Perform other duties as required.
