Job summary

National Beef in Dodge City, KS is seeking a Pathogen Technician to support laboratory testing and data entry in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment. You will follow management guidance, run tests, and ensure accuracy across all paperwork and logs.

Qualifications

• Good written and oral English communication.
• Self-starter and team player with multitasking ability.
• Willing to multitask and handle potentially dirty lab tasks.
• Excellent organization enabling multitasking.
• Previous lab experience or science coursework preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills with all levels of staff.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Flexible schedule including extra hours and weekends.
• Willing to cross-train in multiple lab areas.

Responsibilities

• Follow project methodologies as directed by laboratory management.
• Ensure accuracy of information presented to the Food Safety Center on samples.
• Record discrepancies in the sample discrepancy logbook as needed.
• Perform tasks with speed and accuracy while maintaining quality standards.
• Run tests as specified and directed by management.
• Enter data from samples into the electronic database and print reports.
• Prepare and file paperwork for samples received during shifts.
• Follow all policies and procedures approved by upper management.
