Job summary

Monigold Solutions is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate in Los Angeles or Irvine, CA. The attorney will handle complex patent disputes, draft key documents, and guide case strategy. A minimum of three years’ patent litigation experience and CA bar admission are required.

The role offers a base salary of $225,000–$265,000 with eligibility for a performance-based bonus and opportunities to lead matters in a fast-paced IP practice.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex patent infringement disputes in state and federal court.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct legal and technical research; develop case strategies on infringement, validity, and damages.
• Manage all discovery phases, including document review, depositions, and expert discovery.
• Assist with Markman hearings, IPR proceedings, dispositive motions, and trial prep.
• Collaborate with clients, inventors, experts, and teams to analyze technologies.

An established, growing law firm is seeking a talented Patent Litigation Associate to join its expanding Intellectual Property practice in either its Los Angeles or Irvine, Orange County office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with at least three years of patent litigation experience who is ready to take on significant responsibility, manage cases independently and contribute to litigation strategy in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The Role

• Represent clients in complex patent infringement disputes in state and federal courts.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, claim construction materials and other substantive legal documents.
• Conduct legal and technical research and develop case strategies relating to infringement, validity, enforceability and damages.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including document review and production, depositions, expert discovery and coordination of technical experts.
• Assist with Markman hearings, inter partes review (IPR) proceedings, dispositive motions, trial preparation and appeals.
• Work closely with clients, inventors, experts and litigation teams to analyse complex technologies and develop practical, business-focused solutions.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school, with strong academic credentials.
• Admission to the California State Bar.
• A minimum of three years' patent litigation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently and drive litigation strategy.
• Strong legal writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Experience taking depositions and handling court appearances.
• A proactive approach, strong team-working skills and a commitment to client service and professional development.
• Base salary of $225,000–$265,000, commensurate with experience.
• Eligibility for a performance-based bonus.
