BCG Attorney Search is seeking a Patent Attorney in Buffalo, New York with 1–4 years of IP experience, focusing on patent preparation and prosecution. An undergraduate engineering degree in electrical or related fields is required, along with a JD and USPTO registration.

The ideal candidate will draft and prosecute patent applications, respond to Office Actions, and perform validity and FTO analyses while collaborating with inventors and in-house counsel.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate engineering degree in a relevant field (EE/ME/Physics/CS).
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• USPTO registration to practice in the United States.
• Strong academic credentials and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
• Prepare responses to USPTO Office Actions and manage examiner interviews.
• Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and validity analyses.
• Stay current on patent law developments and emerging technologies.
• Communicate with inventors, in-house counsel, and foreign associates; participate in client meetings and business development.
