Stinson LLP is seeking a highly motivated patent attorney to join its Denver, Colorado office. Clients range from individuals and universities to start‑up technology companies and large publicly traded industry leaders.

Responsibilities

Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications in electrical engineering, computer science and software‑implemented business methods. Draft and review intellectual property and technology‑related agreements and licenses. Provide patentability, freedom to operate, and due diligence assessments. Advise clients on patent protection and strategy, enforcement, and general intellectual property matters, and defend clients against infringement claims.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor, higher degree, or equivalent in Law
• 7+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution in the electrical arts
• Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, or related field and/or work experience
• Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure, multitask efficiently, and think independently
• U.S. Patent & Trademark Office registration
• Licensed to practice law in Colorado

Compensation

Base salary range: $200,000 – $250,000, plus a discretionary merit bonus based on performance. The range is an initial approximation and may vary based on individual qualifications and experience.
