Job summary

LHH seeks a Biotech Patent Prosecution Attorney for a Chambers-ranked boutique firm in San Diego or Long Beach. You will work on cutting-edge patent work involving therapeutics, diagnostics, and biotechnology platforms.

Responsibilities include drafting, filing, and prosecuting US and international applications, and collaborating with inventors and scientific teams. J.D., Ph.D. in life sciences, and USPTO registration are required.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• USPTO Registration.
• Ph.D. in life sciences or related field.
• 0–3 years of patent prosecution experience.
• Ability to analyze and communicate complex biological concepts.

Responsibilities

• Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in biotechnology and life sciences.
• Analyze invention disclosures, experimental results, and scientific data.
• Respond to USPTO communications and conduct interviews with examiners.
• Conduct prior art searches and patentability analyses.
• Prepare patent claim charts and support due diligence and freedom-to-operate projects.
• Collaborate with inventors and scientific teams.

Our client, a Chambers-ranked boutique firm, is hiring a Biotech Patent Prosecution Attorney in their San Diego or Long Beach office. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge patent work involving therapeutics, diagnostics, and biotechnology platforms. • Base Salary Range: $115K-$150K+ (DOE)

Required Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• USPTO Registration
• Ph.D. in life sciences or related field such as biology, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, or other related life sciences field
• 0-3 years of experience in patent prosecution
• Strong ability to analyze and communicate complex biological concepts
