Job summary

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP seeks patent associates in San Diego, CA and several other cities. This role requires a minimum of two years patent preparation and prosecution experience, with bar admission and USPTO registration.

The successful candidate will join a collegial IP team, engaging in a wide range of work including patent prep, prosecution, portfolio management, and opinion work. Our IP Department emphasizes training, significant client contact, and a broad spectrum of industry experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of patent preparation and prosecution experience required.
• Admission to a state bar and USPTO registration required.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Desire to work in a collegial atmosphere with emphasis on training and client contact.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications.
• Manage patent portfolios and conduct strategic analysis.

Dinsmore is seeking patent associates in San Diego, CA; Cincinnati, OH; Cleveland, OH; Dayton, OH; Detroit, MI; Lexington, KY; Louisville, KY; and Pittsburgh, PA. The position requires a minimum of two years of patent preparation and prosecution experience. Admission to a state bar and USPTO registration is required. Successful candidates have strong academic credentials and excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills, as well as a desire to work in a collegial atmosphere with an emphasis on training, significant client contact, and a wide range of work, including patent preparation and prosecution, portfolio management, strategic analysis, and opinion work.

The base salary range for this position is $172,000 - $215,000. This is not inclusive of our full range, and actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. Benefits offered include:
