Overview

Global Patent Solutions, LLC (GPS) is an intellectual property research and consulting firm based in Scottsdale, AZ, serving a global client base of IP attorneys, patent agents, business leaders, R&D teams, universities, entrepreneurs, and inventors.

Position Overview

As a Patent Analyst, you will conduct research of invention concepts related to various technologies, compile formal search reports, and provide findings to clients. Prior patent knowledge is not required; training will be provided. The role focuses on in-depth reading, writing, and computer-based research.

Position Entails
  • Review and understand theoretical and technical aspects of applicant inventions
  • Create research strategies to utilize time and resources effectively
  • Perform extensive patent and non‑patent database research
  • Review, gather, and analyze highly technical literature
  • Report research findings in a timely and high-quality manner
  • Use scientific background to assess scope and patentability of inventions
Required Experience

Previous patent examining or searching experience preferred but not required.

  • BS required in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with relevant coursework/experience.
  • Must have U.S. work authorization and have resided in the United States continuously for the last two years.
  • Experience or knowledge in at least one of: internal combustion engines, pumps, valves, apparel construction, aerodynamic structures, nozzles, drilling, fasteners, bushings and threadings, weapons, projectiles, clamps, jigs, machining processes, coating processes, turbines, HVAC, renewable energies, sporting goods, watercraft, aircraft, 3D printing processes.
