The Position:Patent Agent / Senior Patent Agent

Reporting to the Chief Operating & Business Officer, thePatent Agent /SeniorPatentAgent willbe a key leader in drivingour intellectual property(IP)activities,includingpartnering with internal scientists and outside counsel to draft applications, prosecute patents, and set strategy. Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the drafting of patent applications, independently analyzingresearchand collaborating withscientiststo protect all aspects ofDualitas’ inventions.
• Conductand oversee prior artsearches for patentability and freedom tooperateanalyses, providing critical insights and risk assessments that support futureresearch anddevelopment.
• Analyzetechnological and scientific components ofDualitas’inventions to provide patentability assessmentstofacilitateexecution of business strategies, maximizeintellectual property protection under the law, and minimizerisk.
• Support corporate transactions by performing due diligence, evaluatingIPandproviding assessments in consideration of any liabilitiesorvalidity concerns.
• Run IP landscape analysestoidentifytrends and opportunities within specific technological domains based on individual business cases.
• Independently overseeDualitas’patentportfolios, solely managing dockets and engaging withoutside counsel todevise and execute strategies.

Qualifications

We seek candidateswhoare team-oriented, collegial, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the followingeducation andtechnical experience:

• MinimumB.S. in biological sciences related discipline. Ph.D.strongly preferred.
• USPTO patent bar membership, ensuring the ability to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Minimum3+ yearsof experienceas a patent agent inalaw firmor the biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong analytical skills with a solid foundation in life sciences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experiencecollaborating withoutsidecounsel to manageancorporatepatent portfolioand devisepatent strategy.

Compensation

The annual base pay range for this position is $128,500 - $153,000and will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience,skillsand competencies. The pay range reflects theManager and Sr. Managerlevels. FTitle and compensation will bedeterminedbased on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience. This role is eligible for annual performance bonuses, equity grants, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, paid time off, and other employee programs.
