Job summary

Jobtailor in Connecticut seeks a seasoned IP professional to identify, draft, and prosecute patents, review disclosures, and provide strategic IP guidance across research teams. You will deliver educational IP sessions and support portfolio reviews in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate holds USPTO registration with at least 5 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience, and a PhD in genetics or related life sciences (or an MS with relevant experience).

Qualifications

• Registered to practice before the USPTO.
• At least 5 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience.
• Preferred: PhD in genetics, molecular or cell biology, immunology, cell physiology/biophysics, biochemistry, or comparable life science field.
• Considered: MS with 4 years applicable prior research and/or product development experience.

• Identify, capture, maintain, and protect intellectual property rights.
• Collaborate with research teams to provide strategic guidance on IP opportunities.
• Review invention disclosures and conduct patent landscape searches.
• Advise on patent matters and support portfolio review sessions.
