Job summary

Lonza Group in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Scientist II, Process Analytical Technology (PAT) within R&D. You will design and execute experimental studies to evaluate and implement PAT for mammalian manufacturing, contributing to purification of monoclonal antibodies and other biologics.

This role operates Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with opportunities to collaborate across cross-functional teams, train colleagues, and advance innovative PAT solutions that improve processes and product quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or related field.
• Experience in biotechnology/biologics lab environments.
• Experience with process development or analytical technologies.
• Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong collaboration and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead defined scientific work packages and deliver results against project objectives.
• Design, execute, and analyze experimental studies supporting PAT development.
• Apply scientific expertise to solve technical challenges and improve processes.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies aligned with project goals.
• Generate, interpret, and communicate data to support technical decision-making.
• Train and mentor colleagues on scientific techniques and technologies.
• Represent R&D as a technical expert with internal and external stakeholders.
