Job description

If so, we look forward to seeing your employment inquiry for our Pastry Sous Chef position at Sierra Mar Restaurant, located at the world renowned Post Ranch Inn.

As a member of the Post Ranch Inn, the Pastry Sous Chef will lead the pastry operations to ensure a unique guest experience. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring production, presentation and standards are in alignment with the ethos of Post Ranch Inn.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Strong knowledge of pastry, chocolate work, and baking techniques.
  2. Great attention to detail in every aspect of kitchen operations.
  3. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  4. Interested in fresh garden harvesting and creative plating techniques.
  5. Must have experience engaging in professional social media for marketing purposes.
  6. Must have a valid driver's license.
  7. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis, and have the ability to bend, stoop, stretch, climb, and squat frequently to fulfill a range of manual tasks.
  8. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  9. Requires repetitive motions such as grasping, stooping, bending, lifting, and pulling.
  10. Ability to communicate in English is required; basic Spanish preferred.
  11. Must have 3+ years prior Pastry Chef experience in a fine dining restaurant or boutique resort.
  12. Familiar with local Department of Health regulations and either have, or be able to provide a CA Food Handler permit within 30 days of hire.

Salary range for the Pastry Sous Chef is $80 - 85k + bonus eligible.
