Description

We are seeking a talented, eager, meticulous, and passionate Pastry Prep Cook to assist the Pastry Department in our kitchen. This includes being responsible for all preparation of baked goods, desserts (including simple wedding cakes), bread, breakfast, and brunch items. We aim to be renowned for our outstanding quality products, and we’d like you to help elevate our pastry program to the next level!

Requirements
  • Assist in preparing the pastry program for all events including but not limited to:
  • Farm-House Restaurant
  • Banquets
  • Patio and Bar
  • Mixing batters, doughs, sauces, etc.
  • Cutting cakes, pies, breads, etc.
  • Prep for smaller on-premises events
  • Produce bar and patio desserts
  • Assist with off-premises catering events (future)
  • Support the Pastry Chef and cooks outside of the Pastry Department as needed
  • Maintain quality standards and enforce the Barn Resort standards
  • Ensure all pastry items are beautifully presented and plated according to brand standards
  • Follow all recipes, both new and old
  • Produce all products based on weekly BEOs and daily tasks
  • Assist in all pastry preparations to ensure quality standards are met
Cleanliness & Organization
  • Maintain and organize food shelves, supplies, and equipment
  • Keep the kitchen and equipment clean and organized
  • Follow all safe food-handling procedures
  • Receive and verify food and supply orders for completeness and quality
  • Ensure superior cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and equipment

  • Willingness to learn knife skills and cooking techniques
  • Hardworking with availability for 40+ hours during peak season (May-November) and 32+ hours off-season (December-April)
  • Professional, patient, adaptable, enthusiastic, and cheerful attitude
  • Reliable transportation for daily commute
Schedule

40+ hours during peak season, 32+ hours off-season. Availability on weekends and holidays is required.
