Job summary

• Assists the Pastry Chef in the production of all items created for the cafeteria and other outlets within the facility. .
• Must be able to follow instructions and standard recipes to meet exact standards.
• Must be able to perform day to day duties and operations to include cleaning of the kitchen.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks (able to lift 50 lbs. above waist).
• This is a high volume production environment and you must have a high sense of urgency.
• Must be able to multi-task and thrive in a stressful environment.

Requirements

• Commercial ovens, cooking equipment and mixers
• Knives and mechanical slicer
• Must have a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Ability to come to work regularly and on time, to follow directions, to take criticism, to get along with co-workers and supervisors, to treat coworkers, supervisors and guests with respect and courtesy.
• Must be able to work in a high paced environment
• Standing for extended amounts of time
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds (and occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance)
