Starbucks Corp. seeks a Pastry Lead for our Reserve Kitchen to oversee the production of pastries, cakes, tarts and other desserts in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

You will supervise a pastry team, manage inventory and scheduling, ensure quality and sanitation compliance, and support the Production Manager with hiring and training as needed. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years baking and pastry in a professional kitchen.
• 1+ year experience supervising a team of 5+ employees.
• Current Health Code Certification.
• Current ServSafe Certification (preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a wide variety of pastries and desserts according to recipes.
• Supervises the pastry team in production and timely completion of orders.
• Manages inventory, weekly counts, and production scheduling.
• Ensures quality and sanitation compliance (HACCP logs).
• Assists Production Manager with hiring and training.
• Fulfills other duties as assigned.

These are energetic environments for culinary ambassadors who want to deliver consistent quality in handcrafted foods such as pastries, cakes, focaccia-style pizza and artisanal baked breads.This position contributes to Reserve Kitchen’s success by performing a variety of baking duties in the preparation of quick breads, cakes, tarts, fillings, muffins, cookies, pies, and other desserts and pastries among others as assigned.In addition to production, this position supervises pastry cooks and supports the management of inventory, training, production planning, and scheduling in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with quality and sanitation requirements.Partner must model and act in accordance with Starbucks principles and company policies.Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:• Prepares a wide variety of pastries and desserts according to prescribed recipes and/or supervises the preparation of these items according to prescribed recipes.• Supervises the pastry team in the organization and execution of timely food preparation.• Supervises other Reserve Kitchen partners in the absence of a manager• Ensures the team meets its’ commitment to track and log production and HACCP logs[CZ1.1]• May support the Production Manager with hiring and training activities as needed• Facilitates an accurate production schedule to ensure orders are fulfilled• Receive and manage ingredients and supplies: report defective or inadequate inventory and equipment to manager• Places orders as needed and assigned by their leader• Support with weekly inventory counts and recording of daily production• Performs other duties as assigned by their leader in support of the kitchenWe would love to hear from people with:• 3+ years baking and pastry in a professional kitchen• 1+ year experience supervising a team of 5+ employees in a commercial setting• Current Health Code Certification (per State and Local DOH requirements)• Proven attention to detail• Current Servsafe Certification (preferred)• Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time• Ability to lift and carry 35lbs on a consistent basis and up to 55lbs occasionally• Ability to adhere to strict personal hygiene and standards of dress consistent with policy• Ability to work quickly and efficiently• Data entry; Basic working knowledge of computers• Basic math and English skills• Excellent organizational skills• Competent Inventory Management skills• Excellent communication skills• Outstanding time management skillsAs a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits.
