Job summary

Fairmont Grand Del Mar invites you to join our Pastry Cook III team at a luxury San Diego resort. You will prepare all pastry items, maintain cleanliness, and follow menus and recipes while handling basic arithmetic.

The role requires reading menus, flexible scheduling, and understanding of multiple stations to contribute to banquet and restaurant desserts. Culinary school is preferred and at least 1 year of experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Culinary school preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience.
• Must be able to communicate and understand basic English.
• Some heavy lifting required.

Responsibilities

• The Pastry Cook III prepares all pastry items.
• This person maintains a high degree of cleanliness throughout the cooking area.
• Must be able to read and follow menus and recipes and compute basic mathematical calculations.
• This person must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Complete understanding of allocated stations to work efficiently
• Banquet and restaurant plated desserts
• General bakery production – understanding of 2 stations
