Zuma in Vail, CO, is seeking a Pastry Cook to prepare a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods and collaborate with the kitchen team to uphold Zuma's standards of excellence. You will contribute to an exceptional dining experience for guests and work under the Head Pastry Chef.

Ideal candidates have a passion for Japanese cuisine, a team-oriented mindset, and solid pastry techniques. Flexible hours, including evenings and holidays, are expected to support a high-volume operation.

Qualifications

• A genuine love for culinary experiences and a passion for Japanese cuisine.
• A natural team player who collaborates with a large team.
• Friendly, customer-oriented, and able to create memorable dining experiences.
• Previous pastry cook or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment.
• Solid understanding of pastry techniques including mixing, baking, piping, and decorating.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and production of a diverse range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, following recipes and guidelines established by the Head Pastry Chef.
• Execute precise measurements and techniques to ensure consistency and quality in all pastry creations.
• Prepare and assemble components for plated desserts, including sauces, creams, garnishes, and accompaniments.
• Bake, decorate, and finish pastries and desserts with attention to detail and presentation standards.
