Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland is seeking a Pastry Cook to support the pastry team by preparing high-quality desserts, breads, and specialty pastry items for our restaurant and banquet events.
Under the Executive Pastry Chef and Culinary Director, you will apply precise pastry techniques, follow established recipes, and uphold sanitation standards to deliver consistent, visually appealing products. You will join a union-represented team with opportunities for growth in a dynamic, 24/7 casino
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Associate degree in baking and pastry arts or similar is preferred.
- Post-secondary vocational culinary training is advantageous.
- 2+ years of pastry cook, baker, or similar experience.
- Must obtain and maintain license as mandated by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.
Responsibilities
- Assist Pastry Chef in pastry preparation, production and presentation.
- Report kitchen and storage equipment repairs, maintenance and malfunctions to Pastry Chef.
- Stock food items in coolers and freezers per storage standards; rotate stock to minimize waste.
- Bake artisan and decorative breads; prepare advanced confectionery and desserts.
- Create confectionery decorations and ensure pastry equipment is maintained and used safely.
